Oath of Commitment

The following is the typical oath of office as administered to elected members of the Soil and Water Conservation District. I commit to the following Oath, if elected:

"I do solemnly swear that I will support, protect, and defend the Constitution and Government of the United States and of the State of Florida; that I am duly qualified to hold office under the Constitution of the State, and that I will well and faithfully perform the duties of office under the Constitution of the State, and that I will well and faithfully perform the duties of The Alachua County Soil and Water Conservation District, should I be elected to enter, so help me God."

Not only do I commit to the principles listed above, but I also commit to:

  1. Communication and consideration of the will of the citizen when implementing strategies and programs to conserve resources.
  2. Implementing fiscally responsible programs that do not adversely affect the local economy or operation of the agricultural supplier.
  3. Working to implement strategies designed specifically for the local issues and demands, and preventing redundant state mandates that could adversely affect local natural resources or the local economy due to broad scope and spectrum.
